Well we watched Heart Eyes a Valentine's Day slasher that joins the illustrious list of films which includes My Bloody Valentine, it's remake, Valentine, X-ray, and Lover's Lane.

Let the Right One In

What a case of art mirroring real life. Do a month a series of movies about the cold and snow and get hit with two giant snow and ice storms. Apologies for the delay but here is our episode on Let the Right One In. 

 

It has cold, snow, Sweden, romance, vampires, children, and some of the best/worst haircuts we've gotten to experience in a film for this podcast. Well after the incredible mullet in Dial Code Santa Clause. We hope you enjoy this and episode as much as we enjoyed watching the movie and join us next week for Valentines Day. 

The Grey

We watched The Grey Two. That's right two movies in a row set in the cold snowiness of Alaska. Except this time we are trading in vampires and the town of Barrow for wolves and the harsh unforgiving Alaskan wilderness. Poorly marketed as a movie where Liam Neeson punches wolves. However, what we ended up with was this brutal, filmic poem of sadness, masculinity, and survival.

30 Days of Night

Hello and welcome to our first episode of 2026. We are kicking the new year off with three snow bound - extremely cold horror films. This week we start in Alaska with 30 Days of Night. A vampire movie set during a month long period of darkness that's also super gory? Yes please.

Deadly Games aka Dial Code Santa Clause

Welcome to our annual Christmas episode and do we have a doozy for you all. We watched Deadly Games also known as Dial Code Santa Clause. A French Christmas film that puts an extremely capable child against a home invader. This incredible Christmas horror film set the stage for Home Alone which was released the following year. However, unlike Home Alone the child in this is in very real danger from a dangerous, deranged, murderous man in a Santa Clause suit. Think of this as Home Alone with actual stakes with one of the greatest mullets ever put on screen.

Thanksgiving

How do you top off your month of movies that are all leading to Thanksgiving? With a holiday set slasher directed by Eli Roth. That's right we watched Thanksgiving, but did we like it? Did Josh love the kills? Did it scare Cyndi to death? Join us to find out. 

Parasite (2019)

Well we did it. We finally got Cyndi to watch Bong Joon Ho's masterpiece Parasite. Join us for for an exploration of family dynamics, class, and capitalism with two families, one wealthy and one not in modern South Korea. Did we like it? Were we blown away by the films acting, directing, cinematography, and editing? Did this movie make Cyndi cheer out loud? Join us this week as we venture into Bong Joon Ho's Parasite. 

Delicatessen

Our journey through the month of November and words that are synonymous with Thanksgiving continues as we sit down and watch a movie about food - 1991's Delicatessen. Join us for a post-apocalyptic French dark comedy/romance/horror movie about the end of the world, falling in love, class, housing, starvation, cannibalism, and love and human kindness overcoming it all.

The Ritual

Hello and welcome to the month of November. We have something special planned for you all this week revolving around Thanksgiving. We selected a number of key words associated with Thanksgiving, like friendship, travel, family, food, and tradition. We are using those keywords to select our movies for the month. 

 

This week is travel and friendship so we watched David Bruckner's The Ritual. Join us along with four British friends as we travel to the wilds of Sweden as we explore friendship, loss, and grief but with a monster. Did we like it?
