Welcome to another week and an another attempt to kill Cyndi. This week we ventured to 2006 South Korea for Bong Joon Ho's excellent political monster movie The Host. 

The Return of Godzilla (1984)

Join us as we once again join Godzilla as he lays waste to Tokyo but this time in color in the 1980s. Godzilla was at the start of the Cold War and he comes back in this first of the Heisei era series to be at the end of it. Two films about the destructive force of nuclear weapons set thirty years apart. We watched The Return of Godzilla known as Godzilla 1985 in the U.S. but did we like it? Did it scare Cyndi to death? Another week, another 1954 irradiated monster movie. Except this time it's ants, giant ants, terrorizing America's west coast. Did we like it? Was it fun? Was James Arness ridiculous? Join us to find out. 

Godzilla 1954

Up from the depths ready to wreak havoc on Tokyo it's the best of the 1950's atomic horror movies 1954's Godzilla. One part movie, one part allegory made by a nation dealing with the fear, fallout, and very real consequences of nuclear war and fallout. Welcome to a movie that is very close and important to Josh and spawned 38 sequels and spinoffs. 

King Kong (1933)

Join us as we venture back to the Great Depression and Skull Island to do battle with the original kaiju King Kong and a slew of Willis O'Brien dinosaur effects. Join us for the original giant monster spectacle and the film that saved RKO, at least for a few decades, King Kong.

The Meg

Join us for another giant monster movie. We've done a giant bird, we've done a giant crocodile, now a giant shark. That's right we are back with the ridiculous Jason Statham film The Meg. We venture to the bottom of the ocean to the shores of South East Asia fighting 100 foot long sharks in this meg-a ridiculous but fun film. 

Lake Placid

Apologies for the delay, but join us as we venture into not the real Lake Placid shot not in the real Maine, with a snarky overwritten script and fantastic actors and yes a large animatronic crocodile with Lake Placid. 

Q: The Winged Serpent

Join us as we venture back to 1982's New York City with David Carradine, Michael Moriarty, and most importantly Larry Cohen. A winged serpent has made it's nest in the belfry of the Chrysler Building and it's up to a cynical cop and jazz singer/piano player to save the city. 

It Lives Again

The Davis baby is back and this time there are three of them. We finish our month of father's day movies with the second film in Larry Cohen's It's Alive trilogy. Join us as we venture once more into the world of mutant babies and Larry's house for It Lives Again. 

Come to Daddy

Join us as we venture into a wonderfully odd film starring Elijah Wood, Come to Daddy. This odd and delightful film from New Zealand's Ant Timpson. Join us for this weeks episode.
